I was given the opportunity to design 2 sets of 3 books of the author of my choosing. I chose Stephen king and shot and edited these 6 covers. this first cover of the outsider was shot in a dry creek bed and then edited to fit the visual identity I set for the first set of books. I chose rustic, aggressive and dry textures to convey the eery horror vibe.
This cover was edited to fit into the set of books and give a fresh look to Pet SEmetary. I thought this provided a more eye catching and direct look into Stephen Kings novel.
Creating a cover for such an iconic book was a heavy task. I am a huge fan of it and thought it was only just that I photographed the creepiest local sewer I could find and do some photoshop. the eyes were important to me as pennywise is known for his menacing stare.
For the second set of books I focused on texture. I used a marble and a stock blood vector to create this clean and chilling cover of it.
I loved the idea of the book being a standing tombstone and had to pursue it. I want the viewer to feel the cold stone when they grab it. The second set of textures was targeted for a more sophisticated audience than the first.
Wrapping up the second set is my cover of the outsider. I felt the texture of wood best represented this book and the script font captured the hectic nature of the story.
